We've had an incredibly busy month with shows at Lit Crawl NYC and the Brooklyn Book Festival, so we're a little late in announcing the lineup for October's Body & Mind Show - but man, do we have a great show to make up for it! Yes. Yes we do.

So on Wednesday, 1st October at KGB Bar, we have five original short stories featuring yoga obsessions, phallic architecture, family revelations, emergency rooms, and guilty gospel - plus, as ever, our shambolic literary themed quiz! Here's what's on the lineup next week:

Cross-Heart by Christopher Green

When Elsa Sings by Rayna White

Pool Envy by Stuart Snelson

A Slow Drive Home by Lauren Krauze

We Were Present All Along by Jessica Weisberg

We'll be announcing the performers for the evening very shortly, so watch this space - in the meantime, make a note of it in your diaries - that's 7pm this coming Wednesday, 1st October at KGB Bar in the East Village.

And if you're interested in submitting a piece to us for our next theme, we're currently seeking submissions for our winter Hearth & Home edition.  Stories should be between 800 and 3000 words long, unpublished, and all interpretations are welcome - the submission deadline is Friday 31st October.

Look forward to seeing you next week!

Special thanks to writers Manuel Martinez, Cedrick Mendoza-Tolentino, Anthony Tognazzini, Jeanette Topar, and Jerry Sticker; and actors Jon Sprik, Margi Sharp Douglas, Samantha Jane Gurewitz, Denise Poirier, and Everett Goldner - as well as to everyone at 68 Jay Street Bar for making us feel so welcome.

Our next show will be on Wednesday, 1st October at our usual haunt, KGB - but in the meantime, there are still plenty of Brooklyn Book Festival Bookend Events to check out - and of course, the festival itself on Sunday. For more details, see theFestival website. See you there!

It's a busy month for us here at Liars' League NYC - we took part in a packed Lit Crawl NYC event last weekend, we're about to announce the lineup for next month's Body & Mind edition, and this Tuesday, 16th September at 7pm at 68 Jay Street Bar in DUMBO, it's our Official Brooklyn Book Festival Bookend Event - New York Lies!

We're featuring a special lineup of New York writers for the event - namely:

Manuel Martinez (Center for Fiction Fellow 2013)

Cedrick Mendoza-Tolentino (Center for Fiction Fellow 2014)

Anthony Tognazzini (NYU, New School)

Jeanette Topar

Jerry Sticker

With performances by:

Jon Sprik

Margi Sharp Douglas

Samantha Jane Gurewitz

Denise Poirier

Everett Goldner

What's more we'll also be throwing in our usual themed literary quiz at the intermission, this month featuring New York-themed questions. Big hint: none of the answers will be Paul Auster. It's going to be a great show, guys!

So that's Tuesday, 16th September at 7pm at 68 Jay Street Bar -just a couple blocks away from York Street Station (F Line), a few minutes' walk from High Street Station (A,C), or a very pleasant stroll over the Brooklyn Bridge if that takes your fancy. Entry is, as ever, completely free - we look forward to seeing you there!

In the meantime, you can find out more about the Brooklyn Book Festival and other Bookend Events happening this week on their website.
