It was a dark and stormy night indeed, but thanks to everyone who battled their way through the rain, snow and sleet yesterday to come to our Overworked & Underpaid Show! Note to self: as discovered last night, “nor’easter” has absolutely nothing to do with that Billy Joel song.
So for those of you who couldn’t make it, we’ll have the stories (and hopefully the recordings) up on our website this afternoon, and the podcast in the iTunes Store by the weekend. But in the meantime, a massive thanks to our amazing actors – Seth James, Jon Sprik, Frances Uku, and Lauren Norman - and our fantastic writers – Terese Pampellonne, Rob Ganley, Kurt Tidmore, and especially Irene Zabytko, who came all the way from Florida to be with us last night. As ever, thanks to Denis, Dan and everyone at KGB, and to everyone who submitted a story this month.
And in amongst all the thanks, we also want to say congratulations to our Artistic Director Elizabeth Murray, whose award-winning short film TIMING was chosen last night by popular vote to appear this Saturday evening on PBS, airing right after Rocky! It’s a well-deserved honor - and if you haven’t seen TIMING already, you can do so over at REEL 13, or you can just wait til you’ve watched Sly and acting coach Carl Weathers smack each other around for a while, and enjoy it like a glass of fine wine after a good meal.
In the meantime, thanks again to everyone, look out for the stories, and we’ll be back at KGB on Wednesday 5th December for our Naughty & Nice holiday spectacular. Our next deadline is Monday, 31st December for our Sickness & Health theme – check out our submissions guidelines for details of future themes as well…
